I had a chance to fly to his airport last August when my final destination has been city of Frankfurt. Frankfurt is located east of Hahn Airport and there is a good bus connection, with coaches leaving every hour (With a bus company called ‘BOHR’ trip takes 1h 45 min). At about the same distance, but to the southwest, is Luxembourg.

Some people might confuse this Airport with Frankfurt International Airport which is third largest in Europe and is located at only about 15 minutes from city center. Hahn is much smaller and is destination for only three airlines: Iceland Express, Ryanair and Wizz Air.

Despite its smaller size, no one should underestimate quality of services offered (including shopping area where I bought my watch tax-free).

Best advice I can give to potential travelers to this airport is: check connections to and from Hahn, so you don’t have to spend a night there, or at least you are prepared for that.
