Business Trip, Hotels (Hotels and Resorts), North America

I stayed in this hotel in June 2007. The hotel was extremely crowded. There were a lot of events going on simultaneously. All the ballrooms and meeting rooms were occupied. The restaurant of the hotel was not so good - just used for breakfast, only.
Rooms of the hotel were spacious and clean. The location of the hotel is almost perfect. It’s not far from the convention center (15-minute walk). It’s just at the opposite of “Star of India”.
It’s not a family hotel that you can stay with your family. However, it will be one of the best choices for business trips, especially if you are alone. The price was also reasonable.
Hotel doesn’t look renovated recently, the building does not look it is well-maintained from outside. But interior is OK.
There is a very small swimming pool which cannot be used for swimming
The hotel is not far from the airport.
All of the staff members were helpful.
Here’s the address of the hotel: 1355 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101

If you find yourself in San Francisco (like I did last summer) and have some spare time, be sure to visit last resort to some of the most popular criminals of all times like Al Capone. Penitentiary is located just offshore of SF Bay and tours start every half an hour.
Don’t get too excited, you won’t find gang leaders there anymore, since Alcatraz is National Park now and this tour-company (www.alcatrazcruises.com) is the only one allowed to stop on the island.
I’d recommend buying your ticket (around $25 for adults + reserve some money for souvenirs) online to avoid long lines, especially during summer months. Tours start at “Fisherman’s Wharf” near Pier 39.

When we visited this hotel in 1999, we found it in good condition and the rooms comfortable. The ocean view was a bit limited due to the other nearby hotels. But if you have a window that faces the beach, you can be woken but a nice fresh sea breeze that keeps the room comfortably cool. Also, there’s nothing like a hotel that has an ´All you can eat waffles!´ breakfast. The hotel room was average in price for the area. Basic housekeeping was good: the bedding and towels etc. were perfectly clean, the location is excellent. Literally just across the street from the beach. There are a few good restaurants near the hotel, burger bar and a Mexican which both serve very generous portions. Most of the tours of the island begin very early in the morning, and take all day, but they are definitely a highlight – just as long as you can handle every bus driver saying the same dire joke when they introduce themselves. “Hi, I’m XXXX, but if you’re not happy, I’m Arnold Schwarzenegger”

This is a kind of park, situated in the marina of San Diego. It’s very near to San Diego Convention Centre. Those asking for a bit relaxation during the tiring (probably boring, too) business meetings, Seaport Village just provides a nice escape.
What’s in it? Well, first of all, it has enough space to walk. Green. Several types of restaurants are also available. A gift shop is also located almost in the middle.
Needless to say, being near to seaside relaxes you already.
It’s also near to Gaslamp Quarter.
A perfect place of relaxation for everyone.

I have stayed in this hotel for 5 nights during the ESRI Users Conference, June 2007. The hotel is located next to the Petcopark Baseball Stadium; even there is a passage to the stadium within the hotel.
The hotel is a 5-star hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is extremely helpful. Although I didn’t try the swimming pool; but looks perfect and well maintained.
The location of the hotel is at the Gaslamp Quarter; a famous place in San Diego. It’s also very near to San Diego Convention Centre; therefore it makes the hotel the right choice for those attending any exhibition/conference at the centre. It’s also very near to Seaport Village - a relaxing place for everyone. I will post my comments about it.
The restaurant was overloaded during breakfast. It’s very hard to find seats. The lobby of the hotel was very small - not efficiently designed, indeed.
The price of the hotel is expensive.
The hotel is a perfect place for business travellers; as well as families.
